DREAMers to Jeff Flake: “Stop lying to our community about your position on the DREAM Act”

Jeff Flake, Republican Senate candidate in Arizona, will be having a fundraiser on Thursday. He will doubtlessly speak about his policies inside, however, we will be speaking about his policies outside; undocumented youth will be conducting a press conference to discuss Flake’s immigration policy. In the spirit of Halloween, the youth, parents and supporters will be wearing Pinocchio costumes to symbolise the lies coming from candidates like Flake.

They will also deliver to him petitions collected from Arizona residents, asking him to get the record straight on his immigration position.

Jeff Flake has gone on Spanish media promising to vote for the DREAM Act, however, he flip flopped and voted NO on the DREAM Act in 2010. He even met with DREAMers in 2009 promising to vote yes on the legislation and completely forgot a year later. This has had a disastrous affect on Latino communities, where many families are mixed-status and waiting on an immigration solution for their siblings, cousins and parents.
