SCOTUS SHOULD UPHOLD OBAMA’S IMMIGRATION ACTIONS & POWER OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO REGULATE IMMIGRATION

New York, NY – Today the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to review Obama plan to shield up to 5 million immigrants from deportation. The Dream Action Coalition has issued the following response:

“We are pleased the Supreme Court will hear this critical case. We are hoping the Court can see that the legal challenge is simply a political assault by Republicans on valid legal actions by the executive branch on immigration. President Obama’s actions will protect our families. The states can provide more protection not less to any group of immigrants. Texas or any other state does not have the power to cancel protection the federal government has bestowed on any group of people.”
