Which dreamer are you?
The egotistic dreamer
Sure, you’re a rock star, you should be proud of your accomplishment but maybe you’re living for the lime light. Known to make self portrait memes, personal twitter hashtags and announce every upcoming media event that involves you. Your DACA renewal Biometrics appointment is coming up! you better post a video update! #EgoDREAMer
The shadow dreamer
With all the “coolness” out there to be a dreamer nowadays, you know better and stay living in stealth mode. Your friends and community do not need to know your status right? No “undocumented and unafraid” more like, “undocumented and I’ll keep it to myself”.
The outspoken dreamer
You are the one who does not hold anything back, you’re the trail blazer! Stick to the messaging? No way! You do not let the media or groups dictate your words. TELL IT HOW IT IS! You can’t be bought or influenced by political parties.
The self service dreamer
Sure, you care about the movement and the people but when it comes down to it you have to look for what’s in your best interest. The current org is not sufficient for you? You aren’t getting paid enough for your “hard work”? you must seek a more financially stable future for yourself and leave to another org that pays better. Hey, lets face it, monetary value for you must come first right?
The humble dreamer
Also known as the love dreamer. You don’t care about media, heck you don’t even care about the money or the fancy title you have. You truly want to help the community. You don’t care about the conflicts of the dreamer or advocate groups, you wake up early in the morning to catch flights, to organize, even lay out your own money. Just knowing it’s for a movement is sufficient for you. So what if your broke most of the time, your handwork has led to great things in the movement.
The freebie dreamer
So you got DACA? But you did absolutely nothing to get it. You are the one who shows up to the DACA clinics, use the free legal help but refuse to get involved with the movement. You see all the call-to-action posts on your newsfeed but just scroll down to the funny cat videos. And the only question you ask is where can I get scholarships?
