“WILL HILLARY CLINTON CONTINUE THE DEPORT-IN-CHIEF LEGACY OF PRESIDENT OBAMA?”

New York, NY- Today Senator Bernie Sanders demanded in a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and ICE director Sarah SaldaƱa to halt the raids and provide temporary protective status to refugee families from Central America. Similarly, last night in Nevada, Governor O’Malley called the raids a ‘shame of our nation. The Dream Action Coalition issued the following statement:

“We have recently seen the worst from the Obama administration against our immigrant communities,” said Carlos Vargas, Co-Director of Dream Action Coalition. “More than 120 homes have now been raided by ICE, and our community starts the year with panic and fear. This is not the 2016 we were expecting.”

“We applaud both candidates for their leadership and standing up for the millions of families who are seeking refuge in this country. That is presidential courage. We know and expect for Republicans to ignore this suffering, but we are disappointed to see Hillary Clinton remaining on the side lines. Will the Secretary stand up to the administration or will she continue the Deporter in Chief legacy of President Obama?” said Hina Naveed, co-Director of the Dream Action Coalition.
